“Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași is the oldest institution of higher education in Romania, building since 1860 a tradition of excellence and innovation in education and research. With the adoption of the Bologna process, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University became a student-centered institution of higher education.
Today, the university comprises 15 faculties with a three-cycle studying system (B – bachelor’s, M – master’s, D – doctoral). The University has over 24 000 students enrolled in all three studying cycles. The teaching staff ensuring the students’ training counts approximately 700 tenure and over 600 associated teachers at University level.
The University is a partner of the most prestigious national and international educational forums. UAIC is part of the Universitaria Consortium, alongside the University of Bucharest, the Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj, the West University of Timişoara and the Bucharest University of Economic Studies.
Our university is one of the most active partners in regards to the Erasmus+ study, traineeship and teaching mobilities. We have 350 partners in 29 EU member states and 103 partners in non-EU countries. In the matter of international relations, UAIC is a member of the COIMBRA, UTRECHT and BALKAN UNIVERSITIES networks. Annually, approximately 300 students go abroad for studies at partner universities, whereas the number of students benefiting from traineeship mobilities is continuously growing. “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași relies on the internationalization component, also developed through the approximately 210 teachers who annually benefit from teaching mobilities. Equally, over 200 students come to Iași on study mobilities.
The University’s Department of International Relations constantly attends to the management of the incoming and outgoing mobilities.
